Forklift Truck Accident

11th Feb 2010

The largest settlement ever to be reached in Wales took place in 2002 when student Greg Arde was awarded £2.4 million to recompense him for injuries sustained back in 1995 when the fork lift truck he was driving in a factory overturned and left him severely disabled. Arde was trapped underneath the forklift truck for 20 minutes and suffered a crushed spine, broken back and head injuries. Arde was taking a year out from his studies to become an accountant to work at the plant when the accident took place.

The accident has left him with impaired speech and the need for 24 hour care by a team of up to 6 carers. The accident took place at stationary company Duel Ltd in Cwmbran, south east Wales. The company is no longer thought to be in business.
