Accidents at work claims

Opinion is currently divided on why relatively few work claims are brought. In smaller work places, Social pressure not to claim may be a factor. There is a fear of possible "employer repercussions" if a worker take their employer to court regarding an accident at work claim.

These fears are groundless as the settlement is between the claimant (worker) and the employer's insurance company. Apart from possible higher insurance premiums to cover accidents at work claims, the costs to the actual employer’s pocket it negligible.

There are also laws that stop employers from discriminating against workers who pursue legitimate compensation claims for accident injuries incurred at work. It has been proved that genuine employers will treat all accidents at work, and the compensation claim resulting with compassion and understanding.

You should always consider pursuing your right to claim; if the accident at work was not your fault a claim against your employer's insurer would compensate you for your pain you suffer and the losses.
