For children the three year period begins on the date of their eighteenth birthday.

What factors affect my Leg Injury Claim

  • Your age at the time of the accident. Younger people with longer to live typically receive larger compensation awards for injuries sustained to their leg
  • The severity of the  leg injury. Minor cuts and bruises to the leg will receive lower compensation amounts compared with broken bones or whiplash
  • The length of time taken to recover from the accident. Legs heel quicker than backs. Personal Injuries that resolve themselves within weeks will receive less compensation than those that take several years  or those that  leave the victim with permanent symptoms.
  • Whether the leg injury caused a level of disability or severe lack of mobility. Some personal injuries can result in  a permanent level of disability
